New call! Kickstart your innovation with up to 75.000 euros from the city

Your company - located in Antwerp - can submit a project that innovates in the digital, circular or health economy. If your project is selected, you will receive financial support for the operational costs needed to implement your innovation.

To inspire you, we made an overview of the innovative projects the city already supported financially.
 

Who can receive support

You represent an SME in Antwerp or your company has regular activities and several clients in the city (city and districts). You will preferably stay in Antwerp for at least 5 years after the end of the project.

What projects can be supported

You want to develop an innovative project that contributes to digitalisation and circularity in various economic sectors, or you are implementing an innovative approach in the health sector.

• The project needs to be further developed and launched.
• The innovation offers a solution from the digital or circular economy or introduces an innovative approach in the health sector.
• The total cost of the project is at least 25.000 euros.
• The costs are mainly direct costs related to construction, testing or implementation.
• The project is operational within 9 months of selection.
• The project accelerates the growth and/or (inter)national positioning of your company.
• The project confirms Antwerp as an entrepreneurial city.

Do you want to discuss your project proposal with the projectmanager in charge? From 18 November, you can book a 1-on-1 call to discuss your project.

Applications for funding must meet certain criteria. These are clearly defined in the regulations and include

• the innovative nature of the project
• the extent to which the financial support will stimulate the project
• the quality of the business case and action plan
• the impact of the project on Antwerp as an open, entrepreneurial city
• the expertise and resources available to carry out the project
• cooperation with other companies or organisations

Support per project

The financial support amounts to a maximum of 75.000 euros per project. Your SME must contribute at least 25% of the total costs. The City's support will only cover operating costs.

Timing to submit a project

• This call was launched on 15 November.
• You have until 10 January 2025 - 12 am at the latest - to submit your project.
• A jury will evaluate the projects submitted on time on 24 January 2025.
• If your project is selected, you will present your project during a question and answer session on 3 and 4 February 2025.
• The jury's report will form the basis of the City Council's decision on the final selection and allocation of financial support per project.
• The selected projects will be announced on 28 February 2025.
