Our nine shopping areas
Antwerp’s tourist centre has been divided into nine zones, each with their own, unique atmosphere, to make it easier for you to select the right location for your business. All neighbourhoods are within walking distance of each other and attract a specific type of business and visitor. For example, you will find mainstream retail and hospitality businesses in one neighbourhood and more original, innovative concepts in another. Curious? Click on each zone to embark on a journey of discovery through the city!

Retail Policy Memorandum
In 2020, Antwerp implemented the Retail Policy Memorandum to address changes in the retail sector and enhance the city's profile. By focusing on clustering and preventing decline, Antwerp distinguishes between central, district, local shopping areas, and large-scale retail clusters based on neighbourhood characteristics.
Plug & play business connections
Setting up shop in Antwerp means plugging into a network of multinationals and SMEs that has developed over centuries. It’s the perfect place to forge partnerships and build successes. The city of Antwerp works in constant synergy with the private sector and is actively involved in the development of ecosystems and business clusters for innovation, technology, and industry.
